With online tracking on the rise, Arizonans have the power to reclaim control of their digital identities—and a new law is making it possible.
Every Arizonan is being tracked online—and most don’t even know it. But you can stop it in one simple email. In 2018, I was a victim of identity theft. Data brokers had my personal information, governments could monitor me, and my digital footprint was being exploited for spam and scams. I felt helpless. Maybe you’ve felt the same. But you’re not powerless. Every Arizonan holds the ability to protect their digital identity—and together, we can make change.
Why You’re Being Tracked
Digital tracking isn’t just inconvenient—it’s a privacy risk. Even if today’s officials respect your data, there’s nothing stopping future misuse. Our laws protect physical privacy, but in the digital world, there’s a gray area that puts all of us at risk.
SEDI: Your Digital Key
The solution is the State-Endorsed Digital Identity (SEDI) law. Utah passed it unanimously, with ACLU support. SEDI gives you control over your digital identity, legally and technically.
Think of it like owning a house: you hold the keys, and the state just records the deed. You decide who sees your information, how much, and when. The government is blocked from tracking your activity.
Several states are expected to join the SEDI coalition at the upcoming SEDI Summit, April 20–21, 2026, in Utah. Arizona should be one of them.
Act Now: One Email Changes Everything
You can take action today. Copy, paste, add your name, and send this email to your state senator:
Dear Senator,
I support protecting Arizonans from government tracking of our digital identities. I’m asking you to consider joining the State-Endorsed Digital Identity (SEDI) coalition and attend (or send a representative to) the SEDI Summit on April 20–21 in Utah. Learn more at sedi.utah.gov.
Thank you,
