How Arizona Ascent, DeGeorge Partners, and Phoenix Rescue Mission Are Teaming Up to Save Lives This Summer

That’s why this August, three powerful forces—Arizona Ascent, DeGeorge Partners and Phoenix Rescue Mission—are coming together to fight back against the heat.
The local real estate team, based in Fountain Hills, has partnered with the long-running nonprofit to support Code: Red, a heat relief campaign that delivers life-saving water, hygiene kits, and direct outreach to the Valley’s most vulnerable residents.
“We’re not just selling homes—we’re part of a community,” says Karen DeGeorge, co-founder of DeGeorge Partners. “When we learned about the Code: Red campaign, we knew we had to do more than donate. We had to take action.”
From Real Estate to Relief Hub
DeGeorge Partners has transformed its office into an official water donation site, collecting bottled water from clients, residents, and businesses throughout the month of July.
Their office, located on Avenue of the Fountains in Fountain Hills, serves as both a physical drop-off point and a rallying center for neighbors who want to make a difference.
“It’s amazing how something as simple as a bottle of water can become a lifeline,” DeGeorge says. “We’re proud to be part of a campaign that reminds people their small acts of kindness matter.”
The Mission: Save Lives in the Heat
Phoenix Rescue Mission launched Code: Red to address the growing danger of summer heat for the unsheltered. Each year, the campaign mobilizes more than 40 case managers and a fleet of Hope Coach outreach vans to distribute cold water, sunscreen, cooling towels, and referrals to shelter and services.
The need is urgent. In 2023, heat-related deaths in Maricopa County reached a record high. But in 2024, the trend reversed for the first time in over a decade—thanks in part to the growing number of community partners who stepped in to help.
This year, DeGeorge Partners is one of those partners.
