A unique business is bringing people together through creativity, food, and mental wellness. T’s Crafty Corner, LLC, founded by Tanechia Solomon-Jackson, offers an innovative and deeply personal approach to community bonding. Combining the therapeutic benefits of art with the comfort of good food, T’s Crafty Corner, LLC is not just a business—it’s an experience.

A Journey Rooted in Passion
Born and raised in Texas, Tanechia Solomon grew up with a passion for creativity, finding solace in music, food, and art. Raised by a single mother, she discovered early on that these elements could provide comfort and expression during life’s challenges. Encouraged by an art teacher who recognized her talent, she began to see the value in her creativity and how it could be shared with others.
“Growing up, I loved everything about art and found that my passion developed as an escape from life’s struggles,” Tanechia shares. “Food was also a major comfort—no matter what was happening, we put our differences aside to enjoy laughter, friends, and a meal together.”
Her initial dream was to pursue interior design, leading her to Arizona State University. However, after facing stiff competition in the program, she pivoted to her Plan B—starting her own business. What began as a gathering for single mothers seeking respite from their daily stresses quickly evolved into a full-fledged enterprise focused on mental wellness, artistic expression, and community engagement.
More Than Just Art—A Space for Connection
T’s Crafty Corner, LLC is more than a typical “sip and paint” event. It provides a judgment-free zone where participants can freely express themselves through art, regardless of skill level. Unlike structured painting classes, which often emphasize perfection, Tanechia’s workshops focus on emotional expression, personal growth, and stress relief.

“I want people to come as they are and leave feeling lighter,” she says. “There’s no need to be an artist—just bring yourself and your raw emotions. What you create is a reflection of your journey.”
Each class is designed with intention. Tanechia carefully curates experiences that blend artistic exploration with mindful relaxation. Upon arrival, guests are greeted warmly and encouraged to take a deep breath, setting the tone for a stress-free environment. A self-serve food station—often featuring beautifully arranged charcuterie boards—allows guests to indulge while mingling and getting comfortable.
Once settled, the real magic begins. Under dimmed lights and to the sound of soft background music, participants embark on their creative journeys. Whether through painting, crafting, or mixed media projects, each person is guided by their emotions rather than strict instructions. The sessions are intimate, capped at ten people to foster genuine connections and ensure personal attention.
“I also encourage guests to reflect on their creations,” Tanechia explains. “Some people come to release stress, others to bond with a friend or family member. I once had a mother and daughter who didn’t know how to connect. By the end of the session, they were laughing, painting, and sharing something truly special.”
Mental Wellness Through Art and Food
It is estimated that more than one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness (59.3 million in 2022; 23.1% of the U.S. adult population). The National Institutes of Health (NIH) highlights the importance of creative outlets in improving mental well-being, reducing stress, and fostering emotional resilience.

One of the core missions of T’s Crafty Corner, LLC is to support mental health through creative expression. As an ex-military wife, Tanechia has lived in multiple states and witnessed firsthand how people cope with stress in different ways. She realized that accessible outlets for emotional release were lacking, and she sought to fill that gap.
Her classes are structured to help individuals process emotions, relieve stress, and connect with others in a meaningful way. Through a combination of art therapy and community support, she provides attendees with an alternative form of healing—one that is both enjoyable and transformative.
“This is not about being perfect,” she says. “It’s about expressing yourself in a way that words sometimes can’t. Some of my guests come in overwhelmed, and by the end of the night, they’re laughing, creating, and feeling a sense of relief.”
A Vision for the Future

Having operated for just over a year, T’s Crafty Corner, LLC has already made a profound impact. Participants often leave with more than just a piece of artwork; they leave with a sense of belonging and emotional clarity. Many return for repeat experiences, eager to continue their journey of self-discovery through art.
Looking ahead, Tanechia envisions expanding her business beyond Arizona. She hopes to travel, learning about different cultures and culinary traditions, and bringing those influences back to her classes. By incorporating global perspectives, she aims to enrich the experiences she offers and deepen the connections formed within her workshops.
